Unhappy Spilled gas in black denim tank - moment of stupidity

Any recommendations on removing a gas stain from black denim tank?
In a moment of stupidity I just spilled some on my brand new fat boy Lo...

Tried denim cleaner and micro fiber cloth and didn't work.
Thanks for the help - and keyboard commandos please spare me the sarcastic comments ...

Thanks everyone!
JJ

Wash it with standard car wash detergent. Let dry. Will be fine.

I splash gas on mine when I fill up and it never stains. i just go home and use windex and a microfiber cloth. Windex is great to keep it clean. Don't waste the money on the stealers denim cleaner. I have never used soap on it and it looks brand new. Soap could leave a haze.

Never had a large spill on my Denim Lo, however, I have spilled small drops on it. I use Cycle Care Denim cleaner on my bike. I have also used Windex. Either has worked out fine for me. I also use the standard car wash soap with good results for a deep cleaning. It does seem to do a pretty good job on removing the gas spots.

Good Luck

+1 on just soap and water.
S-100 would be even better - spray it on, hose it off...

In the last 6 months i've had h$ll with these new pumps with the suction splashing gas all over the tank.

I just pour water or whats in the window washer buckets over it never an issue with a stain.

Thank you all for the replies - a little surprised....
Tried the car detergent and water after it.... Tried the windex and the denim cleaner ...
None if them is working .., don't know of I have to put elbow into it or not.... Thought I did anyways ....

I can pretty much see exactly where the gas spilled and ran over the tank....

Windex and microfiber cloth for the win! I use it on every surface too.

Called HD - they said that gas have additives ( including oils ) in it, will take sometime for a big spill to evaporate from paint... They actually said to use windex + simple green and still none of it works... I am walking away from it and will see how it looks tomorrow...

Thanks for the informative replies...
