Default Going from a yamaha 650 to a 08 heritage softail

I can use some opinions. I'm thinking of going from my 2007 650 Classic to a 2008 Heritage. What can I expect do be the differences between the 2. What are the pro's and con's. Is the weight really that big of a deal? THANKS

I actually thought the Harley felt lighter when I traded up. Your grin will be bigger, and your wallet lighter though...

Pros: It's not a Yamaha. It's a Harley.

That's all you need to know.

I just did the same thing. The ride is so much nicer and sounds better too. Riding two up is alot easier and many more options for comfort. Still can't get rid of the 650 though, nobody wants it even at 1000 below blue book.

Something strange will happen if you get the Harley. You'll find yourself feeling a little sorry for the Yamaha riders, and the other "Harley knockoff" riders.

I'm not sayin' it makes sense or anything, and I can't explain it, but it happens.

Pros and Cons, aye? Well, it's an HD forum, so you might not find too many cons. We're kinda biased. haha.

The Pros are many. Bigger bike with a touring capacity. Just a more distinctive bike too, of course. I don't have to tell you this. You wouldn't have got an HD if you didn't like it.

Cons? Well the HD will probably be a bigger investment, especially if you mod it. Then again, it will resell very well. So it's not like you are going to loose much money when all is said and done.

It's a heavier bike. To be sure. But it feels better, more stable and solid. And once you get used to the way it responds, you'll love the ride and probably get hooked in short order.

A little lighter but well worth it I'm sure.

Honestly there is no comparison between a Harley and a metric motorcycle of any kind. I had all kinds of metric motorcycles and plan to get another in addition to the Harley's I already have one day. Harley's are pure passion and emotion. Harley motorcycles seem almost alive in the way they seem to have an attitude, a heart rhythm, and a roar that sounds like thunder. As I said there is NO comparison.

I really like the 08 Anniversary, that copper color looks great. I have never road a heavier bike but I'm pretty comfortable in riding for the most part.

Back in 2006, I sold my 2005 suzuki m50 800cc to my friend and decided it was time to get a Harley. My first one was an 06 roadking, been a Harley rider since. Dont get intimidated by the weight, my advice is to sit on it and take it for a test ride before you decide.
