ive had no issues with mine.. but then again i didnt install it..

The installation wasn't that bad it is the seat itself it leaves a gap in the front and on the sides. I also think it is very hard and can only go about 40 minutes before needing a stop badly!

re. gap, the original HD tuck n roll also leaves a similar gap if i recall correctly, doesnt bother me much, ill have a look at the side gaps you mention.
re. comfort, again no complaints, can easily do 2/3hrs.. defo much better than original tuck n roll too. Shame the RSD boss diamond stitched solo seat doesnt fit though

That looks perfect! It's just a fender and strut that are in the kit? No need for a "special" seat?

no! it fits without changing seat, battery cover etc...
