Extended rear fender lowered question.

Extended rear fender lowered question.
I own a 04 fatboy, and have lowered the rear with a progressive lowering kit as much as i can, but I see that there is a ton of space between the top of the tire and the rear fender.
I seen a ton of pictures of rear fenders lowered a lot closer to the tire, and was wondering has anyone had this done to their bikes, did they re-drill the fender? buy a custom fender?
I've been checking out the Klock Werks extended rear fender, but before I pull the trigger on it I want to know if I can lower the fender closer to the tire first, if I can then my stock fender might look pretty good that way.
Any info as well as pic's would be much appreciated.
Here is a pic of the bike.

Kozy.... I like the air shock, and I'm sure the 18" rear wheel helps give it that lower look as well... thanks for reply.
Thaghost.... Is your bike lowered or is that fender designed to give it that low look? It defiantly looks lowered. I'm also thinking about getting same pipes, they look really low to the ground... do they bottom out a lot or does the picture make them look lower then they really are?
Thanks

You'll be better off buying the shotgun over the fender. The slammed look is from the shocks not the fender. The fender is only stretched at the back bottom.
