I'm considering making a purchase on Ebay for a 2001 EFI Fat Boy tank to replace my damaged 2002 EFI Fat Boy tank. I've been told that it will work on my 2002 but in the pictures I see on Ebay, it looks like there might be a difference in thickness or "wideness" of the pinstriping. Might just be the lighting in the picture. I want to make sure the pinstriping on the new tank matches my other pieces. I was told by the seller that there are 2 pinstripes, 1/8 inch wide each. Problem is, the time runs out on the bid before I can get home to measure myself. Can someone help me please?

 

I think all pinstriping on fatboy tanks is the same width, but I don't know for sure...

Yeas, but I bought a set off of ebay too. I wasn't concerned about the pinstriping width, as I bought a full set, but I say go for it. A lot of times it isn't easy to tell from the pics because the flash goes off on the camera, or t is too dark, or whatever it may be. How much are they asking for the tank?

 

$150 brand new. Only taken out of the packaging for taking the pictures. It is being sold by a Harley dealership. This was the last communication I with them a moment ago:

"Richard I do not think that they have changed the pinstriping all the tanks that have double pinstriping even the 2007 and 2006 models are 1/8 inch"

 

At that price you have nothing to lose. A great deal IMO...

 

Yep, considering they were asking over $700 for a new one if I ordered it through my local dealership.
