Default Tuning question

2012 Blackline, vance and hines shortshots staggered, vance and hines duke air cleaner, and a vance and hines fuelpak. Bike has a stumble in it when riding at a steady throttle. Couple questions on my options.

1. Should I drop $650 on a pro-pipe and hope the fuelpak will dial that one in?

2. Should I drop $790 at the harley dealer for their download and tuning, keeping current pipes?

3. Should I drop $680 at the indy for a power commander and dyno tune keeping current pipes?

Would really like to get a pro-pipe, and if the fuelpak will manage that fine, I would do that in a second. I have heard the shortshots are hard to dial in? Just looking for some reliable advice. Also, I am in Denver so I didn't know if the altitude would cause issues for me? Thanks for your help, Joe.

I can provide recommendations based on experience for a couple of your concerns. I've ran Short Shots with a Fuelpak without problems.

First, Do Not drop coin for a Dealer tune. Yes a good dealership can tune your bike but for the price of a dealer tune you can purchase a ThunderMax tuner and have complete control over any future modifications.

Contact Vance and Hines. Explain the problems you're having. They have a good tech department and can recommend changes in the settings.

The problem is your tuner and your tune. The fuelpak can only adjust fuel so it is very limited. The first step is to invest in a real tuner before anything else.

I love my propipe but it ain't going to tune the bike.

So my answer to 1,2,and 3 is no

So, you are saying no to the power commander and tune from the indy? I didn't expect the pipe to tune the bike, but I have heard the shortshots were hard to get dialed in because of their length and thought maybe the fuelpak could dial in the propipe better. It was just a thought.
