First, I searched this forum and multiple other forums for the answer.
Second, I own manuals for several years of Harleys and I ordered one for this bike today off of ebay.

BUT, I changed out all the fluid today on a bike I just bought. Its a 2005 FLSTSC. I was able to find all of the other torque values and capacities.

Would someone please give me the torque for a 2005 softail primary drain plug.

It has the o ring. I bought a new plug and ring. I dont think my 2009 Softail manual is correct for the 2005. (obviously not pertaining to engine size, transmission etc)

I think it is 6 ft pounds (about 3/4 hand strength if you have no torque wrench or cant get one in there)

 

36-60 inch pounds out of my 2004 manual.

thanks gents. are you using any kind of lock tite or teflon? i see some people do.

just picked it up this week. 2005 FLSTSCi 3800 miles.
