Apes area the most comfortable to me but some like beach bars. Your best bet would be to go to a dealership and try out some of the bikes they have on the floor. A lot of the used bikes have after market bars and some dealerships have a demo bike where you can swap out different bars and seats. Another good way is to go to a bike night and ask to sit on someones bike that has a setup that you think you would like.

I just bought the Mustang Wide Vintage Solo with Driver Backrest (and passenger pillion) a few weeks ago and put 300 miles on it this past weekend. The seat solved the butt and back issues completely, but my arms still seem overextended as my elbows and shoulders got fatigued.
If you had to choose, do you feel the risers lifted your hands more or brought them back to you more?

Harley 4" curved pull back risers.
Part # 56269-09
For Fatboy 1.25" bars
BTW I also added a Mustang Wide Solo seat with backrest. The risers brought the bars up and back a bit, and the seat moved me up and forward a bit. The combination has eliminated the elbow and neck pain completely.
