1999 Fat Boy
Hello new the forum, and have been wanting a Harley for at least 20+ years. The itch has waned on and off during that time, but the want is real bad right now. LOL!
Anyway, I have an opportunity to purchase a 1999 Fat Boy with 20,000 miles on it for $6500. Is that a good price for that model? It does have a custom paint job. Just flames, but I think that is the only think that has been done to it.
Also I've never owned a bike, and have been reading up on peoples opinions about starter bikes.

Will not be able to see it in person till the end of May, and wouldn't be able to purchase till the end of June at the earliest. The person selling it isn't actively trying to sell it so I'm not worried about it being sold out from under me.

Would still be a fair price if I have to buy a rear tire and get the 20k service done on it? I'm not into wrenching so I have to have someone do it.

I think that would be a good price. To me the solid mounted EVO's are a way better deal than the balanced Twin Cam. Mine runs to 80 with just enough vibe to let you know its running. The 99 EVO's are pretty much bullet proof and were pretty much perfected by then. Personally I would not trade my EVO for any Twin Cam but that's just me.

IMO, that's a great price for a great bike. 1999 is the most favorable Evo out there. That's a hell of a lot of HD for very little money. Providing that it's in good condition, it's well worth $6500.00. Plus he'd probably take $6k, which would be a smoking deal IMO.
