yes get the bushings. Even if you do not plan to take off the risers, do it anyway. mine were loose and I didn't realize it until my buddy rode my bike an came back shaking he was so scared. Just as a preventative measure, I would replace them. they are cheap an easy.

are you going to do internal or external wiring????

ok, I am going to give you a tip for your internal wiring. EVERYONE has their own method, but this one is the best ive seen and I have done all of the wiring for my friends' bikes.....

get a piece of dog tag chain. They sell it at wal-mart. tie the end of the dogtag chain to the end of a piece of parachute cord or shoes lace. then tape (and i mean alot of tape) the shoe lace to the wires. the dog tag chain is heavy enough and flexible enough to easily find its way through the holes. then the shoe lace will give you the strength needed to pull the wiring through and make sure you spray the cables with WD-40 so they slide through easily. Your wiring will take all of 10 minutes if you do it this way.

You can also use this conduit lube, for your handlebar wire pull. Is water based and drys quickly. No clean up.

+1 on the riser bushings!

Good luck!

I went with poly bushings just for ***** and giglges my bike was new i coulda reused them.
BigJ is right on. I used the gut of a parachute cord iand tied a nut to the end and tied the other end to the wire.
