Great thread, great post. I buy nothing from anyone that I have not heard good things about. This place just lost my business before they ever had it. Not answering, not returning calls, no email contact, no thanks. Been there done that. I no longer believe that problems like this area a 1 once in a lifetime deal. I don't want to be the 2nd or 10 person that got poor service. I agree with posting REAL issues so that other people can be forewarned. A lot of people anymore just bend over and take it, then move on. I would like to hear their side of the story, if they have one.

I know how hard it is to be a small business today but if they wish to stay in business their word needs to be the main priority. Quality second. I owned an electronics repair shop for 10 years and although supply lines and work backlogs can certainly effect your estimates, good communication with your clients is key. I always delivered on my promises and called my customers if there were to be a delay.

That said, I gave up my business in 1991 because people were not being reasonable and started to want everything immediately. I couldn't imagine being in business for myself today. With the instant gratification brats out there today, how can you make them happy?

Too bad a company like this, that really does produce some great quality leatherwork, can't be more honest with their customers. Quality is worth the wait for some. The rest can buy from JP.

As the OP of this thread, I will post a follow up to say I never heard another word from Chad about making things right. I called and e-mailed neither of which were returned. So they did not make things right for me and it would seem that they are still not being honest in their business dealings. I am surprised they are still in business. I will never order from them again. I just custom ordered a windshield bag from Leatherworks and received it within two weeks. What's more my credit card was not charged until the bag was shipped. The bag was top quality and I would recommend them unreservedly.

UPDATE: After all that, my bags did come today, and in all fairness I do have to say that he did a hell of a nice job with them. Seriously, they are really nice bags. They're not quite as huge as the largest size LeatherPros bags, but they're comparable in quality and I do really like them. Super-easy installation, too.

I think if these folks were up front about how long things will take, and more consistent in their contact with everyone we'd see nothing but golden reviews. Vanson takes forever, too, but they tell you that clearly up front. I was definitely hacked off about the run-around until the bags came.

That is good news. Now you can go on that planned trip with your new bags . How long was the total time from order to delivery? Post some pics of your bike and the bags if you can. We want to see them.

Patiently waiting for mine.

I feel this guy must have a life and a regular job and is doing this leather thing as a hobby job in the garage. This would be fine and I would support this if he delivered as promised. The fact that he is taking money and holding out for several months is border line stealing.

kneesinthebreeze: sure thing. I'll try to get a picture up in the next few days.

One observation, for anyone who hasn't had big bags like these before, I could immediately tell the difference with wind resistance. That's completely unavoidable if you want a reasonable shape, of course- I just mention it because I thought it was interesting.

Default Pics, finally

Okay, at long last- here's how they look. Sorry for the wait. I did a multi-day, multi-state ride with them, and they were great.

That's my Fox Creek "Grayson" jacket bungeed on the back on a 95 degree day. If you're lookin' for a good coat, lemme tell you- Fox Creek is pretty amazing.

Cheers,
Steve
