Some would disagree, but I like Corbin seats. They are very firm. IMO, if you're going to put long days in the saddle a backrest is a huge plus. Here are pics of my '04 with a Corbin gunfighter (top)and their solo (bottom):

I have a Danny Gray seat. Several well known custom builders use them, they make good seats.

I don't think it would be the best for a cross country trip, but the H-D Screamin' Eagle "Black & Chrome" seat is plenty comfortable for cruising and day trips and I think it's one of the best-looking solo seats available for the Fat Boy. It gives the bike a whole new look especially with its chrome extension piece.
