I just kept looking on Ebay under FXCW, FXCWC, Harley Davidson Rocker and found them already chromed.
The guy might have decided to go with a Heartland kit because they looked brand new un-used.
so i went to the harley dealer today and got some prices on everything and i noticed he didnt tell me i needed the luggage rack part.. do i need that metal luggage rack in order for the seat and back rest to fit on?

Yes, if you want things to fit easily and be a bolt-on.
I only bought the struts and backrest (cheaper than making those parts) and fabricated the rest. It's quite a bit of work though. One reason for going to the bother was that I wanted a much thinner, lower, and less massive looking passenger seat, with the goal of having it look less geeky. It's still quite comfortable though with the super high-density foam I used.
I painted my struts black, and may leave them that way. That seems to make them a little less conspicuous, and take less away from the lines of the bike.
By the way, these Harley touring struts are massive steel or iron parts, and it's hard to imagine having them fail, no matter what kind of load you put on there. Quite different from the stock FXCWC passenger arrangement.
Nice work Warp, I'm wondering what color matching the struts would look like. Darker colors should blend in better than the lighter, (eg blue). Paint or chrome owner's preference, either way I'm on the hunt on Ebay. I did price out all the stuff needed from Surdyke's. Came up to about $600.00, If I remember right ...
