Default Another first Harley thread.......

Looking to buy my first Harley, first bike period. I have my heart set on a 07 Night Train denim pewter with 14,000+ miles looks to be in very good condition. They are asking $12995. It seems like a fair price, but is it? Also I would be buying this over the internet which is a concern of it's own. Any of advice would be appreciated.

In 2011 I paid 13,500 for my 06 NT and it had 2100 miles. It was at a dealer here in CA. So you're getting a year newer, the 96, but more miles for 500 less.

I don't know the details of the interaction, BUT, unless you can touch and feel the bike, test ride the bike, take the bike to YOUR mechanic for a once over and receive a CLEAR TITLE in hand when the funds are provided..... I wouldn't even consider it. There are too many bikes to choose from than to enter into an internet purchase.

Dude, there are more scammers out there than you can shake a stick at. Don't fall into the "PayPal has my money covered BS" because there are shitloads of people screwed by PayPal as well.

If you can't shake the REAL hand of the person you are buying it from, don't do it. Good luck. I'd hate to say I told you so. Remember, you asked for advice.

Bone Doc, I hear you. This one is from a reputable dealer on eBay with good feed back, but like you said the touching and feeling is the main part holding me back.

paul0311, Sweet bike, that is exactly what I'm looking for the pewter denim.

I'm not giving up on finding one locally, but pick'ns are slim around here.

Where's it at? A member in that state might be able to go check it out for you.

I won't by anything on the Internet, except from companies I know...never from an individual.

As for the price and mileage...a new 2013 Blackline is $16,000 with a few miles.

I bought my bike over the internet. I would talk to your bank. I dealt with a credit union. They told me I had 30 days from delivery that they could cancel the check if there were any problems with the bike. However, there is risk when buying over the internet, be careful.
