Rocker-C Seat Support Bolts

Rocker-C Seat Support Bolts
Just a quick heads-up for anybody trying to remove their factory trick seat on a Rocker-C. The 4 seat support bolts that drive everybody crazy can be tamed. Start out by soaking all 4 bolts with penetrating oil. The T45 torx is not really a good fit. It is very loose due to cheap a$$ bolts. Instead, use a T47 torx socket and tap it into the bolt head lightly. Use an electric impact wrench. They sell them at most auto parts stores. Typically used to remove lug nuts, but very handy for this job. Get a 1/2" to 3/8" socket reducer to adapt your torx socket to the impact. Give the penetrating oil at least an hour to work before attempting this. Once you seat the T47 torx socket into the bolt head, you can zip them out quickly with the impact. I worked on one bolt for 3 hours until I resorted to the above and then I got all 4 bolts out in less than 2 minutes. I tried the hairdryer, the hammer impact wrench, tapping on the bolt heads, etc. This works very well. I was able to go out and enjoy my new Danny Gray seat today rather than busting my knuckles on these bolts all day.
