Your body's still going to have to tough the ride out more on a Softail or Dyna than it would on a bagger. Your balance would be better on the bike without all the stuff strapped on, so you're safer that way anyway.
Agreed. If I can't strap it to my bars, or through it in a backpack, there's usually someone in the group I'm with that has some extra room to through some of my stuff in.

Probably took that bike more for her benefit than for his. If I was 41 and had a 20-something spinner for the weekend I don't think I'd want her complaining about having a sore "area" before we even check into the hotel.
