Your logic makes perfect sense until you get into it and realize that the engineers don't live in the real world and run into some silly change that makes absolutely no sense and dashes your plans on the rocks of dismay.

Love the bike!

One thing to keep in mind is the location of the o2 sensors. I know on my 2012 Deluxe they are located in a different spot on the pipes and if I were to run the earlier model pipes I would need wire extensions.

Some one out there makes them, but I can't remember who or where I saw them but they exist as a jumper with the correct plugs on either side of the extension for plug and play ease.

Another thought though is that products like PowerVision use 18mm o2 sensors for their advanced autotune kit. I think they piggy back into the stock harness and replace the stock o2 sensors with wideband sensors to tune it better. So what you could do is buy the older pipes and have 12mm bungs welded into the pipes so in the future if you wanted to run the autotune set up you could run that with out disturbing the stock set up.

Food for thought.

I called Freedom Performance and they said they need a Breakout to do test fitting....and who ever lends the bike to them to test fit an exhaust gets to keep the system they test fit. Too bad I don't live in Cali!
