It does not scrape unless you back it into some good incline. You can text or call me at 903-274-9356 for fender questions.

If you want the plate below the light, you need a deluxe fender. I also found a guy that has very close to stock anniversary stripes. His prices are very reasonable, as well......steve

thank you all.. great feedback. fireman1501 amazing job on the rear deluxe fender extension.

given my current situation of being overseas (back in aug. for month ) I think going the route of buying a deluxe fender, stripes, and painting is not that feasible or practical (at this time). under other circumstances this would be the way to go and I know any other way will cost more!!

So far I have sorted out (correct me if I'm wrong) that I can achieve the same look with a heritage rear fender (found online and I will have to suck up the extra cost!). Big thanks to fireman1501, I should be able to achieve my goal with a heritage rear fender, Softbrake's tombstone light (for the heritage fender) and their license relocate bracket.

This should achieve an identical look (but higher cost) to going through the deluxe fender route.

I've come across an ad on craigslist that is a must to share and it is the set up that I'm going for (or extremely close to it). Check out the ad here: http://mankato.craigslist.org/mcy/3659576669.html

I do like the set up of this bike a lot and the only thing I would want to do is just place the license plate underneath the turn signal bar (which I should be able to do with softbrake set up with a tombstone light).

I tried uploading the pics but wasn't able to. Are you all (Fireman1501) able to tell the fender he used?...

I am going to be doing the same conversion as you. From pics, its looks like we have the same bike, 03 FXSTS with anniversary paint. Just found a Heritage rear fender with same paint and will be doing the work probably in the next couple weeks. How did yours come out? Did you end up needing anything extra or was it a relatively easy swap?
