Default Fork oil Help.

Ok so long story short. I removed my fork tubes installed ricor intimanators and progressive Drop in lowering kit. Got everything back together went to add the oil and fudged up on the amount I put in. No big deal. I am wondering what part of the fork tubes I need to use for the proper measurement for the fork oil level.
Looking at the manual it says to measure from the top of the fork tube. This is where I get a little confused. Do you measure from the cap or the actual fork tube. See the below image to see what I am talking about. Thanks for any help.

PS I do have a fork oil level gauge with the plunger to add or remove oil.

It's from the top of fork tube without cap. literally top of the tube.

That's what I thought but when I added oil before putting the springs in with the forks compressed I measured 5.2 inches down from the top and only put 8 oz in at that point. Just seems like I should need more. Factory specs call for 13.9 oz. Can the new springs and Ricor's be taking up that much more volume?

Did you pump the tubes during the refill? Not sure if it helps, but I always run them up and down slowly to make sure I don't have any air pockets in the lowers during the fill.

I did a few times. I will do like I said in the other thread and be a bit more patient this time around. Not like I will be riding soon with a new freash coat of snow on the ground.

You'll know if you put in too much. It will be CRAZY stiff.

That and blow out a seal on the first big pot hole or bump. I figure draining and starting at 11-12 oz will be a good starting point. Then I can add or remove 1/2 oz at a time to get it right.
