To lower the rear fender I removed it from the bike and made some spacers out of Styrofoam 3 1/4 think and taped them to the tire. I then reinstalled the fender and scribed new holes to drill through the struts. Drilled them then welded up the original holes. I also drilled new holes in the rear of the fender to remount the twilight. You can buy another signal stand for the right and use it to replace the license mount on the left if you choose to use a aftermarket license bracket also. You will need to modify the brace on the inside of the fender to match the new holes along with a little work on the seat holdown bracket. I didn't take pictures while doing it but I'm going to paint it this weekend and will post pictures as soon as I get it back together

After you lowered the fender did you check clearance when your suspension compresses? How close is it?

Thinking about going with the mustang wide tripper solo and pillion but on the page it says this:
NOTE: Will not fit with stock seat. Solos have built-in steel support wings to hold up the full width of the foam bucket.

What does that even mean? Do I need to buy a seat pan or something?

Yeah I have the wide tripper solo and pillion. My wife loves the mustang pillion. The solo is comfortable but I find it moved me forward slightly and I don't like that.
