Default Need advice on buying '11 Fatboy Lo...

Hello,I'm in need of some advice regarding a 2011 Fatboy lo.I presently ride a 2012 Dyna Street Bob and prior to that was riding a Road King Classic. The SB is an awesome ride but I think I want a bigger bike again. Not as big as a touring bike, more like a Fatboy or Heritage.I dont do to much "touring" and maybe do out of town overnight stuff a couple of times a year.Mostly local stuff.

This is were I could use some advice (and yes I did search for this type of situation and found some good stuff, just want to get the latest opinions) A HD dealership is offering me $9000.for my SB (I dont owe any money). The used '11 silver Fatboy lo,3400 miles, w/V&H long shots, stage 1,detachable windshield and a couple of other bells and whistles is $15700.

I have'nt taken it on a test ride yet, never even rode a softail before. So after riding this bike and assuming I really dig it.What's a good price to be paying for it? My two previous HD's I bought new.So I'm no stranger to dealing w/HD sales people.I also have checked w/KBB,ebay,and craigs list and a few other dealers on line used bikes.I figured I'd follow the good advice here and get a "new" used bike w/the stuff I want already included and save a few coins. So making a long story long (sorry) What should I pay for this FB lo? I'm not looking to rape the dealer I just want a good fair deal. And I have already made up my mind to trade my bike, and I know I'm gonna take a kick in the a$$.But unless I sell it on my own this is what I'm gonna have to deal with to get the bike I "really" want.I'm in no big rush.I just need opinions on the above deal I described. Thanks to all.

I would say the dealer could deff come down off that price! You figure a new 2013 is only a little more brand new! I paid around $17,500 OTD For my 2012 Lo Brand new. Plus the 2012's and newer come with the 103 engine! As far as the MOD's done to that bike it all depends on if you really like them and what they mean to you! Most of the time MOD's dont reflect the sale price of the bike.. I would offer the dealer $14,500 for it! Or try and find a 2012 Lo for sale and get the bigger engine! Thats just me tho!

i agree. if your going to spend that kind of money, you might as well get a new one. yeah it won't have the accessories but you know how it has been ridden. warranties are nice also.

$15,700..no. the 2011 still has the 96" engine (which is all well and good), it has the new electrical system (changed in 2011) which still isn't a big deal.. 2011 means it's 2 years old at least (maybe it was built/sold in 2010 as a 2011 model..ya know?) so unless they're offering a new warranty, the factory warranty is expired..
but when a 2013 model is $16,800 new.. no way would I pay only $1k less for a used one with 3400 miles on it.. no more than $13.5k, and even that's high.

No kidding. If they don't come down close to two grand (which I doubt they would) then just go with new. It's a no brainer in my book.

I don't know where you're located jimmy z but around St. Charles, Missouri the dealer would probably have that out on the floor for $14,900 and would have to be pressured a lot to get down to $14 even. You might find that bike on ebay or Craig's List for $13,500.
