Default Tell me why I shouldn't buy a springer...

So I have an opportunity to pick up a cheapish 2005 softail springer classic

I probably shouldn't endulge my vice any more than I need to... But it's just too tempting...

She's all stock standard with 6500 miles

I've dreamt about a SoCal vicla springer but I have seen a few interesting bikes that have caught my eye

Now, I am in the process of putting together a tough fatboy so one would ultimately have to go

So my choice will be between a 100+hp 103 fatty or an athsmatic 1450

What would you do folks??

All I'll say is that there are a million Fatboys out there.... I had one. Get the Springer if that does it for you. Nothing says "Harley" like a Springer does.

I have had my 05 for coming up on eight years and 70,000 miles now and in answer to your question.......I can't think of one reason to not get one. Is it a carb or FI?

Hope that helps.

Personal preference really, I was just curious. I think since performance seems to be a concern for you, a carb would probably be a better way to go. Easier and cheaper to fiddle with to get the power you want and doesn't require a degree in electronics to do it.

If you're over 35 get the Springer. Under stick with the Fatboy. Show vs go. The eternal dilemma.
