Totally agree. I can't stand the feel of the telescopics on a Harley.

I think he's talking about the CVO springer, it had a 4 piston caliper in front. I put a 4 piston PM caliper on my Crossbones, I love it. I don't think the stocker was all that safe. Antilock brakes indeed.

I saw Harley making the springer parts in the York plant. Really cool, one of the best memories from the tour. They seemed proud of their hammer forging process, kind of sad they stopped making them.

Springers rule, the only thing is when your steering head bearing starts to crap-out around 5000m, it's about a days labor to strip down the entire front end+ what ever spacers and bearings in the rockers you will probably want to replace while it's all apart..pretty pricey compared to the telescopics

35,000 miles on my Crossbones neck bearings and they look great. You just have to grease them and keep the tension up to spec. Simple

Yep.. harley figures out down the road it would be smart to put a grease nipple on the steering neck on the later models, no such luck for the older evo's

I've got 20k on mine and nothing yet but an adjustment to my fall away.

That's exactly right, but mine liked to be a touch tighter than spec. Fall away is set at 2.5in and she rides perfect. Spec was too lose and it wobbled.
