Only get a Springer if you want more awesomeness in your life. I have had two Fatboys, both really nice bikes (my 1st hd was a FB) but there is just something about a Springer. Try one if you have not yet, they ride really great.

If you don't want to get into a converston at every gas stop, every bike night, every trip to the dealership, almost every time you take it out, don't buy a springer. If however you would like to ride a really cool scooter, can't go wrong with a springer.

As soon as I can think of a good reason to not get a Springer, I'll let you know.

Don't hold your breath.

I bought my Springer when I was 27. That was two years ago. I'd always wanted one and buying it was the best decision I've ever made. She rides and runs great and looks awesome sitting still. I've had 800 mile days in the saddle just as she sits in my sig. The ride is incredibly smooth and fun to watch as the front end works.

To your concern though. They are tricky to work on and if you don't get them right, they can get dangerous. They require more maintence than a standard front end does, but the pay off is well worth it. Also, a bit of advice with the fall away. Most bikes run great at 1.5in fall away, but my bike didn't run right until it was set to 2.5in of fall away. I've read elsewhere, they like to be a bit tight.

Also, the front brake sucks!

The FatBoy is cool, but a Springer will always stand out, and if you don't like the crappy brake on the front, you can always upgrade it. As my bike sits now, she stops better than any bike I've owned anymore.

I have these PM brakes on front and rear.

Ok!!

Ok!!

So I've decided I'm goin for it... I have to run a check to make sure it's not encumbered its mine

I'll have to wait to finish of the fatty before I do any mods but it will give me time to decide on how I want it

I love the bobbed out springers but I think I'll go the vicla (?) look

I want a 21 up front probably fat spokes, but would like some opinions on a color combo

I'm thinking chrome spokes with black rim & hubs??

What do you guys think??

Here she is...

Don't buy one!!!! LOL. The less Springers on the road, the better! Hahaha

I added a FL Springer front end and Heritage Springer front fender to my 2011 Softail Deluxe.
