Question Thunderheader

I'm kinda crushing on the Thunderheader 2 into 1 pipes... Has anyone had any experiences with these? Good or Bad?

If you're crushing on it now, wait until you put it on your bike. I put one on my bike and couldn't believe the performance and sound. My throttle response is instant, and the sound.... Nothing sounds as good as a ThunderHeader! Go for it, you won't be disappointed.

Good sound, good performance, bad fit n finish. Have a few freinds with them. I like my D&D. To each his own.

+1 on that. Came really close to buying one this past summer, but just wasn't interested in having to get a new one in a few years.

That being said, my V&H Propipe is showing some rust at one of the joints after only 4 months of riding.

I had a bad experience on my Dyna with a TH. The black turned a brown in a week. The bracket cracked in two weeks. I welded it and it cracked again. Replaced with D&D and have been fine ever since.

The power was nice as was the sound but there were too many issues to justify the pipe. Not to mention it was quite pricey.

Thanks for the help... I'll do some research on the D&D... where is the best retailer to shop for D&D?

Got a black Thunderheader on my 2011 Deluxe. Performance and sound is second to none. Got it tuned with Screamin Eagle A/C and Screamin Eagle Race Tuner. Mine still looks good as new!

On a softail there is much less chance of any issues with the bracket cracking as the engine is counterbalanced and smooth as silk. Just trying to share my experience. They wanted $200 for another bracket. No replacement was offered without paying. I even provided pics. Regardless, it is what it is.

I've had mine since '08 with no issues. Performance gets an A, fit an A and finish an A-/B+. The weld on the cone had what appeared to be some splattered metal around it under the chrome finish and the chrome finish was a little thin in a few areas. Really, not deal breakers. I don't even notice the blemishes now. But you know how it is when something is new and shiney, everything is magnified out of proportion. The visual imperfections caused by normal riding wear and tear have far exceeded the out of the box imperfections. Bottom line, if you are an everyday rider the pipe condition will not remain 100% perfect anyway so go for the performance. I really like the pipe and have no inclination to run anything else.
