Default Brake Rotor ??? with the risk of looking stupid

I am hoping this is not a stupid question, I am looking for chrome/polished stainless brake rotor for my springer. Are there pads out available that are better compatable with this set up so you still have the stopping power but wont loose the shine on the rotors them selves? Thanks

The rotor will never stay shiny where the pads contact it. It is the nature of the beast. Even if you by a rotor that is polished completely.

I have polished rotors and, even though the pads do mark them up, they stay pretty shiny. I'm sure in 5 years they still won't look as great but that's to be expected when grinding two surfaces together. One word of caution, be careful braking when the polished rotors are new. That surface is pretty slick and limits your braking ability until you get them worn in a bit.

Kevlar or organic pads will help.

Use organic pads. Unless you're just rolling the bike from trailer to bike show floor...

Even the stock rotors polished up look great. You will just have wear on the pad contact area.

Guys that black out their bike, have painted/PC'd the rotors and they look great also.

The only part of our one piece polished rotors that we do not polish is the portion that the caliper grabs on to. Reasoning? So that they are not too slick for the brake pads.

+1 for the organic pads.

Obviously, there will always be apparent wear on the rotors no matter what material the pads are made of. From my research, organic pads tend to show less wear on the rotors than other materials.

This is just my opinion from documentation I have read. I have no science to back this up.

@ Kowan
That's a nice looking Rocker you've got there, brother.
