I didn't say it was carved in stone. I know age has nothing to do with anything it was just something I have observed over the past year or two. Go back through some of the threads and you will notice what most of the older guys have, like myself and what the younger guys have. In no way did I say it's that way or no way. About the front tubes or any parts as far as that goes, didn't I read in one of the threads about some of the guys getting parts they want blacked out dipped in something or other? I am not that current or informed in all the blacked out mods things but it seems I remember that from one of the threads that a guy was dipping or getting his stuff dipped in something or other. I seem to also recall him saying it was some pretty tough stuff too. Just a thought I had when I read this thread.

Just bought my 08 FLSTN and the P.O. powder coated almost everything a "satin" black, a.k.a semi-gloss black. Looks really good and to me is right in between matte and gloss:

matte black....satin black....gloss black....>

Sharp looking bike HI, it's one of the nicer bikes I've seen. In the process of going with the wrinkle black on my Heritage Classic & I expect it to change the look a lot.

Had a black Bob and I'm now in process of converting the Fattie over, but it'll take a while.

Two questions...is that a D&D Fatcat? And...did you paint the pipe yourself? What'd you use!?

Wow, that just became my favorite bike on here. I love the contrast between the tins and the black with a splash of chrome here and there. Perfect.
