Default Handlebar Swap - 2010 Fatboy Lo

Recently picked up my Fatboy Lo after riding a Road Glide for the past 5 years. (The Roadie replaced a 99 Evo Fatboy.)

SO - I hate the bars.

I'm 6'5", and really want something different. I was thinking a set a powdercoated T-Bars I saw on a popular auction site.

Anyway - they're 4.5" rise. 6.5" backward sweep. 1 1/4"-diameter.

I'm wondering if they're tall ENOUGH.

Ideally, I'd like to go as tall as I can, without having to replace every stinkin' cable on the bike!

Any taller riders out there who have done a similar thing? Any help is appreciated.

I, too, have a 2010 Lo.. the stock handlebars were a common problem among people.. i replacing mine with a set of StreetSlammers.. they're better, but even at 5'10" i think they could have a higher rise.

The streetslammers (p/n 55985-10) have a 6.75" rise, 5.75" pullback and a 30.25" tip to tip width.. so.. to answer your question, at 6'5", i don't think you'll be happy with a 4.5" rise.

Here's a measurement chart of HD handlebars, if this helps:

http://www.harley-davidson.com/pna/p...ar_measure.jsp

Personally, I like P/n 56039-03A, the Swingback bars.. 12.5" rise, 8" pullback, 30" wide.. if they came in black, i'd consider switching my streetslammers out for them.. but to pull my bars off and all the stuff that comes with it isn't worth going to the powdercoater, etc etc

Try the 8" rise. That's what I was considering. Then the Christmas bills started coming in.

I've seen t bars as high as 14", but obviously that would require new cables.

I want to avoid a cable switch.

Also, my Lo is a NON-ABS version.

I know my StreetSlammers used all the stock cables except for the front brake line.. even though the stock one probably would have fit fine, it would have been tight.. I think most HD bars are designed to use the stock cables, but i'm probably wrong about that one. There's PDF's on HD's site somewhere that tell you if you need longer cables for their bars, but I can't find it at the moment.

I sat on a '10 Lo yesterday and I liked the bars. The Lo bars look just like my '10 Wide Glide bars, just with shorter risers. Does anyone know if they are the same?
