Yep. Im in the middle of crank work and 107. I got the silver motor but going with un polished black jugs. Only chrome/alum I want is on the engine, head light and trees. One step at a time though.

Brett,
I somehow missed this thread until just now (Mar 13). Congrats on doing even MORE wild **** to your bike. I've seen both of your scoots at the shop and thought they were heavily modified THEN...now you come up with this, nice.
I love the scissor-springs, great choice. I would do a similar rear fender if I didn't ride two-up half the time. I like the idea of the one-piece look for your tank. Obviously, since you spend a lot of time thinking through each and every mod, you are making good choices. Did you say you were going to do a 21" front tire? That's probably the only thing I would disagree with, but since I will get to see it in person after you finish, I will hold my tounge til then.
Your XB looked cool the first time I saw it...I expct it will look sick-cool the next time, ha. I will follow this thread and go up to check it out soon.
Good luck.

soft02, I like those covers from JIMS too. I was thinking about those as well.

Springerpilot, Yeah, I think the last two times I have seen you up at the shop, it has still been in pieces. I am only going to even consider the 21 if I can find one that closely resembles stock. I have some emails out, but haven't gotten a reply as of yet. I am on the fence with it right now. You can ride two up with the shadetree swap. The have a set of fender struts and a sissy bar that will work with it. You would just have to use a lick and stick type passenger pad or something. I don't know how I would feel about my passenger moving up and down with the swingarm though. I was going to run their struts mostly for the look, but they won't fit on the rear axle with a side mount as well. Shadetree has an adapter to move an axle mount to the passenger peg mounts, but then I couldn't run a swingarm bag. The hardest part of this whole thing has been figuring out what will go with what....

your bike is gonna be sick man! a lot of what you're doing is what i'm going for on my xbones once i save more money, and somehow convince the girlfriend to not ride with me so i can do the shadetree setup.... the roads is massachusetts are bad enough with the stock passenger set up, let alone sitting on the swingarm. i've always wanted to re-paint the tins flat black and stripe it up different. can't want to see how your bike comes out! and you've got a sweet place to work on it too...

Well crap. Guy brought my tins. I ain't happy. All kinds of trash in the paint. I don't see how he thought I was going to not notice. He dropped them off and left before I could see them. My first thought was that I was only paying him 600 bucks....but I didn't ask him "hey can you give me a real cheap paint job?" When I first approached him my exact words were "what would it cost to do....." I never said I needed a certain budget or that i expected some kind of discount. He quoted me a price. Am I wrong to have expected it to be done right?
