Default 8 oz

Had to take out 8 oz of oil from the transmission. I just got my 1000 service (stealer) and just wanted to check the levels. I checked it as per the owners manuel.
The red arrow indicates where it was. I now dropped it to the F mark.

Heck a little extra oil doesn't hurt, NOT!!!

Their quality control sucks.

I would go back and ask for a refund for the 8 oz over fill. maybe the tech, (an MMI tech. school grad) used his own dip stick. or he needs to put his glasses on to read.

Another prime example of why I will NEVER ever take my bike to a "Stealership". I would push it right past them to get it to an INDY's shop!

If that is the worst, you are very lucky...that's why I have an awesome independent mechanic...he has saved me thousands and he can be trusted......

Why is there such an assumption the indies are so superiour to a "stealer"? What is to prevent Joe Bag 'o Donuts from opening a shop, logging on to HD forums for all his technical advice and everyone assuming he is better than the guy down the road who has invested likely millions in his business? Not saying all indies are bad, I use one, nor all dealers are good. Find a good mechanic and go with 'em. If he works at a dealer great, if he owns his own shop great too. They're all people and some are better than others, regardless of who is cashing your check
