Default Removing Damaged wheel bearing

I'm working on a 10 Fatboy where the rear wheel bearing blew up and pretty much welded into the rim. I have cut the bearing and pryed on it a bit but it wont budge. Anyone know any tips or tricks to get her out?

If it has as you said, welded itself to the hub by getting hot enough to melt the aluminum and bond to it then I would say that your best and safest bet would be to go ahead and get a new wheel or hub.

Get a piece of round bar the size of the bearing and weld the bearing to it then drive it out from the other side. Do it while it is still hot.
Been there done it.

if you don't have the puller, take it to the the dealer or an indy and let them pull the bearings for you. or whats left of it. if the outer race isn't blue or discolored from excessive heat i doubt the bearing is welded into the hub. wheel bearings in the hubs are one tight ****'in fit.. simple prying and light hammering won't get them out.

That sucks, had it happen on a car once. It actually welded the race to the hub. Destroyed the bearings & had to use cold chisel to strip it from hub. Hopefully it didn't warp the aluminum rim where bearing goes in.

Highly unlikely you need a new wheel. Some of those are so tight, hammering and slidehammer type pullers with not touch them. The correct puller will pull it right out...buy one or take it to the dealer.

Take your time and use a dremel to cut the outer race in half if the bearings busted. You probably didn't actually weld the steel race to an aluminum hub. Take your time and don't scar the inner hub and you'll save the wheel. Heat helps, but don't warp anything.
