Fxst

I am sure it just depends on demand for the bike. The soft tail family seems to change quite a bit. Since I have been riding, they have introduced and retired several bikes in the class. I am sure it will be back. I like the FXR and they remade those for a couple years. Seems like many bikes make a comeback.

Question is though, is have you ever ridden a touring bike, one of the 09's and later?
I'll betcha ain't..
This was my 99, last year of the evo FXSTC.
I always thought that the 21 inch wheel was too skinny so I put a 16 inch on it and a Fatboy front fender on it.
Do I miss it, sure sometimes, but I turned around and did the same thing to the Glide.

I love my 2003 too, and I love the cobalt blue. I love the looks of the fxst because it has that chopper look with raked out front end and 21 incher out there. I don't know why they did away with the nighttrain too, my dad just got rear ended on his 06' NT and has been looking for a stock replacement for a month now without much luck. He started looking at different models now because the majority of the NT's around here are hopped up and he just isn't into that.

Rented one last fall. 103 with all the bells, it was ok (way nicer than my old 84 FLHS). I would take one if they were giving em away, but no way would I trade my FXSTC for one. It's just more fun.

I have to agree, the touring bikes are just too big and heavy for my tastes and the riding I do. If I had money to spare I would love to have one for the winter since you can hardly tell the wind is blowing when you are riding one. I'm not big on fairings and big windshields. I have a detach windshield for my bike and only use it when it's really cold out. The wind in my face is one of the things I love about riding.

Practically every one that I know out here in the Black Hills or we'll say in the Sturgis area, not that we do much riding or anything..mind you..has went from a smaller bike to a touring bike, or would really like to.
Again, most are getting up in years too which has quite a bit to do with it as well I'm sure.
Going from a softail to a touring bike
is like going from a Toyota Tacoma to a Chevy 2500 double cab.
However, I'm sure many would rather keep their Toyota Tacoma's too.
