05 Heritage Deceleration Wobble

Called the shop to get a price on the spokes vs ordering online. Let him know what was going on and his reply was "dude, if there's 8 broken I wouldn't even mess with that rim any longer" Now my first thought is sure, there's only two wheels and if one is shot you're not going to want to risk anything with your life, then I also think to myself, is this the typical salesman pitch? Because he is saying he looked on ebay and whatnot and found them at the minimum of $300. I looked around and on JP cycles I see 'em from 99 - 130. But then again I do not know exact dimensions of the wheel I have on there now. It is OEM.
Not sure if anyone has repaired something damaged this bad or if I really should just get another one. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Had this issue on my 05 train right after new tire and thunderstar front wheel. Initially wheel and tire were the suspect, but after repeated trips to dealer, new tire, wheel checked and rechecked, neck bearings were "within spec" based on fall away (very vague ball park test IMO). That dealer finally gave up on me and told me I'd be fine as long as I didn't take my hands off the bars.
Took to another dealer, and they knew as soon as they saw the new wheel. Due to the added weight of the mag wheel, the neck bearings needed to be tightened a little more than OE spec. Quick adjustment, and no charge, and she was smooth as silk. Later ended up with the front end clunk which was dealer bulletin, but that's another story and totally unrelated to the shimmy.
Bottom line, if you don't know how to make the adjustments yourself, then take it somewhere you trust. Like I said, the fallaway test is pretty vague and open to the interpretation of the tech as to what constitutes a gentle tap, and also any mods to cables, bars, brakes etc will affect the outcome.
