Looking at the Ultima. It's cheap, and it's available raw and ready for powdercoating. This is gonna be a winter project done after I do 3.37 gears and replace my leaking shifter shaft seal, and replace the front caliper with a Brembo from a V-Rod.

I'm in Poolesville, right down the road from you.

I have been looking at the Santee can...gotta have the shiny stuff for the old chrome pony. I am tearing off my back end first of the year so it might be a good time to swap.

This job has turned out to be much bigger than I thought.....

- Does anyone know what size the fittings are coming out of the engine? I've removed the quick-release lines and the big chrome mounts they use, but the holes in the motor are massive. Looks like they're around 3/4". Anyone?

- Same question for the drain line? 3/8"?

- Looking at using Goodridge lines, which have a straight -6 JIC female end on them. Any clue on finding fittings to work with these?

- Is there an easier, better solution available?

Thanks.

1/2 NPT

I am going to use the following hose ends that will thread right into the engine.

Definitely not 1/2 NPT. The oil tank's 1/2 NPT; the lines into the motor are much bigger.

I apologize if I gave you bad information. I pulled my vent line and I thought it was 1/2 NPT. Let us know what you come up with.

Maybe this is where I got 1/2 NPT from.

I'd be OK with having a threaded adapter that went into the existing quick release fittings, but I can't find them either.

I'm amazed that no one's posted this project before.

Take the fittings that came off your bike to the local Ace hardware. Most have a device to screw your piece into to determine size. Or match it to some fitting on a shelf. Then you can find the AN fittings you need. Local hot rod shops, not O'Reilly, would prolly be able to help out as well.
Looks like you're blazin the trail on this one.
