Default Help with Black Cases

In an attempt to shiny-up the rocker boxes and outer primary cover, I inadvertently got some of the polish on the black inner primary cover and the black engine fins.

I have alredy washed the bike, but there is still a chalky-white residue embedded in the wrinkle finish. What can I do to remove it?

What do you all do to avoid getting polish on the cases? In hindsight I've thought of using painter's tape. Any other ideas?

Thanks

Try S100 or WD40 either of them may shift it.

PJ1 works as well. I avoid using the polish around the engine cases for that reason. I just use that Maguiars spray stuff on the parts you mentioned.

Did the same thing in several places on my first bike. Believe it or not, Magic Eraser took the chrome polish right off my wrinkle black engine block.

Oh, and Magic Eraser works great for shining up those engine fin edges.
