Default Hard bags and Fender gap?

I'm about to do mockup before sending off to paint, I have extended hard bags with cutouts for the pipes, and cyclevisions baggertail brackets,
Question is for the guys who have already done this mod, about the gap left between the bags and fender, I'm well aware of the option of using the cyclevisions filler panels. but not too sure, I've studied quite a few threads and pics and it seems that the gap is different on quite a few of the bikes, some seem wider and some not, wondered why this might be?
maybe diferent ways of fitting them. or are people bending the brackets.
I've got to say that if I fit them and end up with a huge gap!, I'll have to get a fender, I dont really want to go down that route, as I was wanting to have the option of undressing it.
Any pics direct from behind would help.

Gap isn't bad unless you space it out to keep the deluxe factory seat, i just cut the side skirts off the seat and took the rail off till i can get my hands on a mustang seat.

You could always get a bad dad rear fender with built in filler panels. The gap is what it is.

Just when you think you are done, there is something else you need. At least if you are like me.

Hogpro... More to paint, plus, I cant take the bags off, I'm really trying to avoid this, as I want the best of both.
Urban... I have a solo C&C seat which is narrow so I dont need any width, are you saying that the CV brackets make the width adjustable?, I dont have them till later in the week, so I cant check, any pics from behind?

No the cycle vision brackets are not adjustable. Conceivably, you could make them narrower at the bottom by modifying the crossover bracket, but the top is gonna be what it is. I got the baddadd fender and actually had to widen the brackets top and bottom to get my gap where it as at about 3/16". Myself, I dont like the look of the filler panels. So if I were doing what you are doing, Id just put them on and deal with it. Ive seen Deluxe's with stock fender and bags with no fillers and they look decent. What I dont like is that the cutouts in the bags rarely fit around the exhaust very cleanly. Usually the pipe isnt centered in the cutout and the cutout looks too big and is the wrong shape. You'll just have to see how it all shapes up with the mockup. I dont think you can try to predict how its gonna look til its together. Then make the decision on whether you want gap fillers or not....thats my $.02

Sorry, not a great pic but my cycle visions kit is put on with no spacing or anything, just straight how it comes out of box. BTW i am completely meticulous about detail and the gap doesn't bother me but i have an all black bike with the black bars so it blends.

The gap dosent bother me, I can't stand the fillers or the fat fenders. looks too new school to be put on a deluxe or heritage.

Well here's mine, I didn't know if I would like the fillers or not so I
fabricated a set from sheet metal. I couldn't use the Cycle Vision
filler panels because I made a bracket to mount the bags 1 1/2"
lower on the bike and I didn't think their fillers panels would work.
I decided the panels looked ok for now.

Personally, I think the filler panels just draw more attention to the space between the bags and fender.

Actually I added them to hide the steel tubing and hardware from the bag
mounting system, but you do have a point Robert.
