Just be aware if you have ABS, when you change the oil in the transmission you have to remove the compressor before you can drop the shocks to remove the oil drain plug. So a good idea to change the oil when you install the Shotguns.

Yes, I don't care how many miles you have on your bike. If you are putting the Shotgun on your bike change the tranny oil at the same time too. Even if it's a new bike with only "hundreds" of miles on it still change it, IMHO. You never know there may be some tiny fragments of something or other in there with just these limited few miles on the bike then your good for at least 20k, or whenever you change yours. I am a freak when it comes to that, mine is changed much more frequently even with the Shotgun on it, it still gets done. It is an awesome mod, JD hit this one out of the park.

pay attention ghoti lol yes he is in Cali.

I know forum member deal is $1250 shipped anywhere until Feb. and I also know I have seen others say he installed it at no charge.

So...... I will go out on a limb and bet that if you show up at JD's garage with $1250 bucks in your hand you will be riding home on a brand new installed Shotgun Shock

ps; make sure you post some pics later this week haha

Don't forget CA sales tax...
I got mine through Drew when Dr. V-TWIN still existed for $1250. After they charged me for the higher sales tax in LA county which I don't live in, it was $1500 delivered to my door.

Pretty sure that the only way you get charged sales tax is if you are getting it in the same state in which the seller is located, since the CA government can't be expected to charge sales tax to out-of state-residents if the transaction didn't take place in their state. So pretty much anyone other than CA residents aren't getting hit with the CA sales tax unless they are physically in CA to make the purchase. That's always the way it's worked whenever I've bought stuff, and I think I've probably bought from suppliers in upwards of 15-20 states over the years, several of which have reputations as being in the higher end of the taxation scale. I don't think I've ever been asked to pay state taxes on anything.

Was installing my compressor today, ran into some fitting issues. Called JD and he set me straight. Explained my solution perfect. This has probably been said before, but if you've ever thought about buying his shock, do it. Great product, excellent technician support, and a pretty nice guy. Saw and rode one once, and I was hooked, can't wait to try this out in the spring.
