Vic Bronco, your gonna love the Shotgun come riding season. You will never be sorry you took the plunge and pulled the trigger. It takes a few rides to get to "know them" and to get it dialed in how you like riding but once you do you are in for a real treat.
Tailsfrommycrib, they don't seem to be awesome, they ARE awesome! When you finally pull the trigger on them you will wonder why you waited so long. It will be like you got a new bike and your gonna have a blast with them. Nothing grabs a crowds attention like pulling up and slamming it right before everyone's eye's. Most people around here has never heard of the Shotgun before or even knows what they are. I have pulled up before to a watering hole where there has been 20, 30 + bikes and when I slammed it they all went from everyone looking at each others bike to having ALL of them walk over to my bike and trying to figure out what I just did and have them all start asking questions. Don't think for a minute though that the Shotgun is just all about looks and the "cool" factor. The Shotgun eats up any and all nasty *** road conditions and takes riding to a whole new level. Also besides those two factors JD is a GREAT guy, no bullshit and he stands behind his product 100%, no questions asked if there are any issues. Yes, it's a pretty penny for a mod but my bike is almost all modified and the Shotgun is my favorite mod, that says allot in and of itself. IMHO, it's worth every single penny paid for them. I will never own anything but a Softail and I will never own another Softail that does NOT have the Shotgun on it, period, end of story.
I am also aware of the fact that there are a few who has made it clear that are tired of hearing my comments on the Shotgun but if they don''t like what I have to post then don't read my stuff. All you have to do is to skip over my comments and go to the next guys comments. I make these comments for 2 reasons. 1, there are those who are out there that this still may be new to them or new to this site. I just want to share my positive comments about the Shotgun Shocks and to help out in my brothers in riding to make a good, fair and informed decision. 2nd, JD is a GREAT guy with a GREAT product and If I can help him sell a few extra units to put a little extra bread on his table by making the comments I make then all the better! I thought that this was what this site was all about anyway! I get NOTHING out of helping JD by making a few sales for him, thats not why I say and do the things I say and do!! JD once sent me something for FREE that has NOTHING to do with his Shotgun shocks, he wouldn't even take my money for postage. Whens the last time Harley or any other vendor out there that has done that for anyone here on this site? I'm guessing NEVER!!!

Remove two bolts and the whole shock assembly hinges down to completely expose the drain plug. It's very easy.

I fitted my shocks last weekend, and took the opportunity to replace the tranny oil. That will mean it shouldn't need doing for another 20k. But it is easy to do if you need too!

I for one appreciated all the positive reviews of the Shotgun, as there are not many fitted in the UK, so not a lot of info. I am really impressed!!

When people say these shocks can be adjusted ''on the fly', are they implying that you can adjust them with the bike moving, rolling down the road?

I adjusted the re-bound whilst moving on my first ride with them. Not sure if I'd attempt the ride height on the move, as you could quite easily let all the air out and be slammed! But re-bound is easy.

Does the Shotgun switches have presets so you know whether or not you've raised your rear 1" or 6" while riding?
