What is scrapping? I have not heard of any Slimline specific issues.

Are you referring to the Softail Slim? The foot boards do touch down a bit, guess it depends how hard your like to corner. I've done 3000km on mine and hardly touched down. However, I've just lowered my bike 1.5" and it does touch down more now. It's no big deal anyway, just makes a bit of noise and wears away the bottom edge of the foot boards. They're not expensive to replace if need be.

I have a ridden and owned a few Harleys, I demo'd the Slim last month and first thing I did was drag the floor boards all the way thru the corner.

The sound of the stock footboards scraping is really harsh and can easily startle you when it first happens. This is in part what caused me to crash the first time I heard it. It scared the the **** outta me, so I pulled up instead of following thru and didn't make it thru the curve. I learned to get used to it, but I still found myself kinda cringing and hesitating thru turns knowing that I was gonna scape a board and hear that sound which almost sounded like fingernails down a chalkboard to me. My new footboards (Cyclesmith's Banana Boards), however, are more solid and the sound when they scrape isn't nearly as harsh. With footboards you will scrape no matter what, if you ride aggressively at all, but the stock ones make a terrible sound. Good aftermarket boards look cooler and won't make scraping quite as cringeworthy...just a little food for thought.

Ouch!

True, any lowered Harley is gonna scrap with foot boards, standard Slim and Deluxe are the lowest. You just get used to it. Alternatively, put forward controls on with foot pegs.

Scrape = normal

You want no scrape? Buy anything > XR1200 (which means non H-D)

Adjust your rear shocks. They are set light from the factory. 20 minute job.
