Default best option to upgrade motor

Hello, I was wondering what was recommended to upgrade a '06 night train. Is the big bore kit for 95ci the best or is there something else to get better power out of her. I have V&H sideshots and whatever the dealer did forstaging it. Was thinking bout the the big bore kit, but before i do, want to make sure there is nothing better to do.

Thanks for the input,
Nate

When I bought my bike I was told to do the stg 1 and do some bolt in cams and exhaust and see how I liked it, and then go to a 95 kit If I wanted more.

the thing is for me that I hate to buy stuff 2 or 3 times (I usually end up doing it anyway) to get it right.

the cams youll get for a bolt in deal will usually be too small for a 95 in with higher compression.

and if you do your heads you will want/need Hi lift cams.

I would recomend visiting Head-Quarters.com and maybe calling Doug for imput.

I just spent a little over 2K with them for a 95 kit with the compression (pistons)and head work and matching cams and Ignition module. everything is made to work as a package for 100hp and over 100 lbs of torque and tuned for 91 oct fuel.

just my .2 cents -D-

To get an 88 to make good power you'll have to port the heads, and install new cams. For anther $300-$500 you can get your stock cylinders bored and new pistons. Might as well pony up the extra dough for the big bore since you'll have most of the top end apart anyway. That way you'llonly have to get it dyno tuned once. I would steer clear of the Sceamin Eagle stuff as it is ok stuff it carries a premium price. You can get a much better set up using the the heads and jugs you already have. Check some of the packages offered by these guys if you want to make power, they'll outperform the SE stuff for a lot less money. Justmy$.02

I've heard a lot of good things about these guys.

http://www.gmrperformance.com/

They do a bolt on 98" kit plus, cams, head work, whatever you want... Worth a look, IMHO.

It never ends... you will never have enough power, or be satisfied completely. It's a disease that runs through the veins like synthetic oil. I have an 05 Ultra, and did the 95CI. SC ported heads, Se forged pistons, SE 251 cams. I have 99.4 torque, 96 HP. Got my wife a 07 Deluxe, and now I want more power. Carolina HD in Gastonia NC tells me they can get 115 HP and torque out of my motor by porting the stock heads, and new cams. They say they can get 140-145 out of a 113. I'm thinking about the 113, but then, what happens to the drive belt? What can it handle? Decisions.. decisions.

There is no replacement for displacement. If I had the choice, I would go with the 98 inch kit, heads, cams, ignition, pipes.

Just to be the devils advocate about no replacement for displacement. I have been reading the tech articles in American Iron and they make a strong claim for better breathing rather than displacement. So the folks who were talking about porting heads, better pipes, free flow air cleaner and cams have it right. In fact the guy makes a point that when you start taking the 88s up in cubes there is a greater threat of blowby problems..... Just my $.02 - Hope I start an arguement [:@][:@]
