Mines an '05 Fat Boy with EZ brackets and hand made saddle bags. EZ brackets are quick detach with only the docking hardware left on the bike. Virtually invisible once the bags are removed. Removing the bags takes maybe 5 seconds a piece. I really do get that most bikes "look" better without bags, but at least for me, a motorcycle couldn't be more useless without some sort of detachable luggage. I simply need to take stuff with me at times, and quick detach bags makes the whole ordeal simple and plausible.

With the bags:

my 07 with HD bags. they're held on by two bolts and pretty easy to take off if need be.

The 96 is mine with small leather bags on it. Don't hold much but it helps.
The other is not my bike but one done with parts from Milwaukee bagers.
The leather ones are 16 years old still look great with a little care they are HD bags.

This second one is stretched bags but it could be done with stock bags also

I never really like bags, but got tired of not having storage, love them now. My are permanent mount with quick release backrest, you can do them quick release and not see a bracket.
