Power Commander Woes

Power Commander Woes
A friend of mine has an 07 Fatboy. He is having lots of trouble with his PC USB III. It's stuttering (for lack of a better term) when he rolls on the throttle it hesitates, then takes off. He is DONE with it I think. He's tried maps from Jamie at Fuel Moto, he has tried maps from the Power Commander site, he even paid $175.00 to get the bike dyno tuned. The tuner guy said he's never come across the problem and can't figure it out.
He has unhooked the PCIII and is running with Stage 1 D/L-- SE High Flow A/C Kit--VH Staggerd Pipes. After he unhooked the PCIII the stuttering went away. But I say it's still running lean..yes/no? You guys with more experience than us, my question: "Is it possible he has a bad PCIII Unit perhaps, or anything you can think of?"
Thanking you in advance..
And Ride safe..

RE: Power Commander Woes
My inclination, since I am very happy with my PCIII, would be to think that he had a bad dyno session and that he needs to go to a qualified tuner. Did he go to an approved dynotek tuner? I rarely see anyone on this forum comment that they are extremely happy with a canned map.

RE: Power Commander Woes
Soft06 is talkin about my Fatboy. I have had it with the Power Commander! All I have gotten out of this whole Power Commander experience is a huge headache and a lot of waisted money ($500) and time!
I have had this stuttering problem with my PC3 ever since I voided my HD warranty and installed it.
I thought that by changing maps it would fix the problem....NOPE
I thought that by changing pipes it would fix the problem.... NOPE
I thought that by getting it Custom Dyno Tuned would fix the problem ... NOPE
This past Saturday I had it dyno'd by a Dynojet Power Commander Approved Tuning Center for $180. The tuner couldn't tune out the stutter nor could he explain it. By the time I rode home I was so pissed with this whole Power Commander ordeal that I pulled it out of my bike. Then guess what happened???
No more stuttering!
My bike runs fine now. I might be running a little lean but if I'm not doing any damage to my engine at this point I don't even care.
