Default Looking for some "Big Guy" advice.

Hey all.

So here is the situation. I am 6'4" and 350. "Big Boy" is an understatement. I have a 2002 HD Softail Classic (FLSTCI). I have 18" apes (I think). So here is the issue. When I am at full turn, my grip is almost buried in my chest. Also I am pretty much riding with my .... *cough* parts ... almost up to the little leather bag thing on my tank. So obviously I need to move back, but I have a two up seat. So looking for some advice as to what seat to look for, or if there is something I can do to make this a comfortable touring bike.

P.S. I love my backrest.
P.S.S. I do not NEED a 2up

Thanks for reading.

P.S.S.S. I bought it without a owner's manual. Anyone got a cheap to free source for one? Electronic version is fine with me.

UPDATE: I swapped the 2 up seat with the stock solo seat (the guy had the original seat laying around). It is night and day. I am able to sit a good 3 inches or so farther back than I was. I even had to pull the bars back into a better reach. All I can say it is just SO MUCH more comfortable. Its like a different bike. Thank you all for all the advice!
I have new questions, but those are for another thread. Thanks all.

Thanks again! (New rider)

Harley Davidson web site has all the owners manuals, just look it up under owners section.
You can also research to see if there are any open recalls on your bike as well
welcome to the site if your new, great wealth of knowledge here

You might try contacting Mean City Cycles to see if they can modify your seat to help you out. They have a guarantee that if you're not happy with the mods, they return your seat to it's original configuration.
You may also check to see if there is a seat manufacturer close to your area that can custom fit a seat for you.
As far as your bars, maybe loosen the handlebar clamp and push them forward a little bit, or maybe go to a shorter or wider bar. You may be a perfect candidate for a beach bar...

Are your apes in line with your forks? If so push them forward - that should help (see my sig. pic)

As for a seat - you could try a Lepera Bare Bones but your *ss might "swallow it" (not trying to be a d*ck - just saying they are small seats)

Welcome and congrats on your 1st bike

Ultimate Solo seat with a back rest. When you order it tell then you size.

Loose the apes and get a set of beach bars, you will be much happier.

From one big guy to another.

thanks all for the advice. I will look into all those seats. I found a few custom seat manufacturers in my city. So I'll call them for quotes. Beach bars though huh? I'll admit I am not a great fan of them. No offense to anyone out there with them. But man. Just seems like a bit too "tractor" for me. I'll start with the seat and work my way into bars.

But again, thank you all for the advice!
