Default right turn signal

I have a strange problem, I want to see if anybody has a idea on how to get this to work correctly.

My right turn signal will only come on, if I apply my front brakes.

there has to be some relationship from my right turn signal switch and the front brake switch. I pulled the right grip assembly off to make sure there are not any pinched wires and everything looks good.

Anybody have any ideas?

Could be the wires were not correctly positioned in the connector. Not sure what bike you have but I think the connector should be under the tank near the front on the right side. You may be able to see it without removing the tank but you'll probably need to unbolt the tank and slide it back a little.. The correct positioning (for my 2007 at least) is as follows:
1 Orange/White
2 Red/Blue (this is the brake light)
3 Grey
4 White/Black
5 White/Brown (this is the turn signal)
6 Black/Red
If your bike is different, check the wiring diagrams in the service manual.
Hope that helps.

Did you ever find what the problem was? My sportster is doing the same thing.

Is this a new development, or has it always done that.? What's the bike?
