Default Front wheel part number night train 43445-05

I am looking at a front wheel from a guy on craigs list that bought a storage locker. The part number is 43445-05. Can anyone tell me if that is for a 2006 night train? Or if it will fit a 2006 night train?

Thanks guys. The information and help here great.

My axel is the 3/4 inch. What size does the 43445-05 take? Is there a kit to convert the wheel to 3/4?

Thanks again

The number of wheels that fit your night train is limited. The newer ones (07 and later) are metric. I don't know about converting (anything is possible) but the cost of the conversion, not to mention the effort, would cause me to wait for a correct used one or the purchase of a new one from Drag Specialities or Harley Davidson. HD's wheel looks different than aftermarket for sure. The channel for the spoke nipples is narrower for one thing. Looks better but harder to keep the rust out. Softail standard wheels from 02 to 06 will fit but their hub is polished not chrome. I learned all this the hard way, by the way.

If your hub is still good you can get a used Softail Standard rim and have it respoked and use your original chrome hub also... or, you can take a bolt cutter and cut the spokes, buy new ss spokes and a rim from Drag Specialties, and then have it spoked (this is what I did after some woman driving one of those really high bed Ford pickups backed clear across a parking lot at BestBuy and hit my bike.

With a -05 part number, I'd be inclined to think it was first produced in 05. The fitment to an 06 might be possible, the 05 also has a 3/4" axle. AFAIK there was no offset to the hub on the 05's, can't say for certain about the 06. The p/n references the 21" chrome profile front rim, which was an option on the 05 and probably 06 trains. My guess is it would fit, but if not you could always have the hoop laced to your stock hub. Good luck, and put some pics of that train up next time! We're a visual bunch, the pics keep us interested!

Are you talking an assembled wheel or just the rim?
The part number 43445-05 is for a chrome rim only ...

I looked up the part numbers for a wheel for a 2006 night train and I get 2 numbers:

43671-05 - WHEEL,21/FRT/LCD, W/O BRNG
44608-05 - WHL,21/FRT/LCD/SMOOTHIE, W/O BRNG

I also get 2 part numbers for the rim:

43662-80B - RIM, 21 INCH
43445-05 - RIM,WHEEL,FRONT,CHROME,21 INCH

So if the wheel you can buy is complete one it will fit your 06.
