Default Painting Heat Shield

I was thinking about blacking out my Big Radius exhaust. You guys thing I should do the a/c too or leave it chrome? Also preference on high heat paint? I was gonna go with VHT, but I've heard good stories on DupliColor and Tremclad as well. Thoughts?

Personally if I wanted to black my pipes, I'd do it right and go with Powder Coating. You want a durable coating on your pipes. Paint will scratch right off.

Sure, why not? I repainted mine after they started rusting thru the original ceramic coating on mine. Turned out great and I blacked out that eyesore of a V&H badge, too. Looks much better, imho. Rustoleum grill paint seems to be a popular choice. I can't get it over here, so I used the best "silk" finish high heat paint I could find. I personally would black out that a/c or get something smaller, but that's just me...

Not necessarily. As long as you prepare the surface properly and use a high quality paint, you'll be fine. I coated my pipes, rotors and belt sprocket all with the same paint and it's holding up fine after a year. No sign of scratches or flaking at all. I'm gonna black out my forks with a good ol' rattle can come spring.
