I just changed my trans oil in my 2006 Deluxe to Redline ShockProof and WOW what a difference. I never expect to notice a difference when changing a fluid but did almost immediately. Shifting was so much smoother and easily finding neutral, on the first try, everytime was surpising.

At the same time I switched to Redline Primary Chain Case Oil and seems to be working out just fine also. They were both part of the Red Line Big Twin Powerpack I got off Amazon. Engine oil, Trans oil, Primary oil and Fuel Injection Cleaner.

Gee, this is much better than a Pop up add for --- Amazon, or was it for Oil, no, its for doing your own oil changes. Yes that it, do your own oil changes!

Kenny, Sorry if it came off as an add for them, I had never used their products in my bikes before, was very encouraged by the results and was just "Calling it as I see it"

Rick

oh yeah and +1 for doing own oil changes!

If you are looking for good alternatives you may want to consider Mobil 1 Racing 4T-10w40 in the primary.

Just to keep things confusing, I generally use Syn 3--shifts fine, no problems with neutral. I did use some Revtech in the previous change and I didn't really care for it. It seemed a little clunky and noisy. It all might of been in my head as I was having second thoughts using it by the time I put the derby cover on. Was in a hurry and that was all that was available close by. Lots of good stuff out there and everyone has their favorite. There will be no concensus here. I don't know that there is anything especially bad to stay away from.

Amsoil 20w-50 in the motor and primary. Amsoil gear oil in the trans.

For the primary, I've tried at least four different top-shelf fluids. The most expensive wasn't always the best. I've haven't found anything that works better for me than Shell Rotella T 15w-40, $13 per gallon at Walmart. It has no friction modifiers, is JASO-MA certified, and is safe for use with wet clutches.
