Default It's tire time for the Deuce

So I need a new pair of tires for the Deuce. I found a rear Metzeler ME880 160/70B-17 on CL for very cheap and I'm debating grabbing it. Has anyone had experience with this tire, preferably on a deuce.

I'd prefer to have a wider tires on both the front and rear staying with the stock rims and fenders, but I'll take what I can get.

What say you?

I've got Metzlers front and rear on my Duece. Fine by me. The front is a 90/90 that is slightly wider than the stock MH90 and works well on the factory wheel.

Pirelli Night Dragon and Sport Demon are pretty inexpensive and have been getting excellent reviews. I don't think the Sport Demon comes in your rear size.

I'm considering the 100 wide front for my Rocker (stock is 90), because I'd like more tire up there, and it looks like there's room for the extra width.

does the 90/90 fit with the stock fender? it's a great looking tire.

What I'm most concerned about is that this tire is a 160/70B-17 M/C 73H, which isn't the exact model that the website calls out for on the Deuce, which is the 160/70 B 17 M/C 79V. Will I have any problems with this tire?

The tire you are considering has about a 150 pound lower load rating, and is rated for 130 mph rather than 149. I wouldn't think either would matter much on a Deuce.

I weigh 180lbs which puts the bike at roughly 70-80lbs over the tires weight rating. Is this a problem since the weight is distributed between the two tires?

Yes to your first question. No to the second. The 73H is what I have on the rear and have never had an issue. My bike has 80,000 miles on it and I've gone back-n-forth between the Metzlers and the Dunlops. I'm on my second or third Metz without issue.
