Default Yes, another catalytic converter question

I have a 2012 Fatboy Lo. I just installed a set of Rush 2 inch baffle slip on mufflers. The factory mufflers I removed have a catalyst honeycomb in them. Everything I have read has indicated the catalyst is inside the exhaust piping at the engine. Is the catalyst inside the muffler, in the head pipes, or both? I would also like to add how incredibly badass these sound compared to the stock ones. They are DEEP, and loud. There doesn't seem to be any performance loss or gain.

Thanks, I remember reading several posts about people having the pipes cut open, catalyst removed, and re-welded. The only performance difference, and it may just be in my head, but it pulled easier in 6th gear.
