Default Fatboy rear brakes dragging getting hot.

My rear brakes are dragging causing abnormal heat. I just changed the rotor because it was a little warped. Rebuilt my caliper and master cylinder. I am at a loss...... Any ideas?

When was the last time you cleaned your caliper pistons. Sounds like they are due for a cleaning.

Today!!! I pulled both out, cleaned them and put them back in. I didn't change the seals. But I cleaned the caliper and rebuilt the master cylinder. Before putting the caliper back on I pushed 2-3 reservoirs of fluid through the brake line to flush any junk. Put the caliper on and bled the line. I'm not sure what else i should try.

Mine always drag a little plus if you put on a new rotor & pads let them wear some. I had a mechanic do my pads a few years ago & he didn't set the pad spacer right (spring like plate on the back of the pad) & I had a lot of drag & a blue rotor. Maybe yours isn't in properly.

Pad spacer? The spring that presses on the top of the pads.

No, my Heritage had plates on the back of the pads. One was twisted.

There is a "spacer" on the back of one pad- opposite the pistons- but it seems to sit flush against the pad.

Okay. I use Lyndals so no friction pad.
